Anne Thompson
Anne Thompson graduated from Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Tx. in 1966 with a Bachelors degree in Drama. She married a theatre teacher in the department and traveled to different universities throughout her early years. Anne participated in Terre Haute, Indiana community theatre, playing such roles as Nora in Ibsen's "A Doll House" and Eleanore in "Lion in Winter" before moving on to Decatur, Illinois. In Decatur she became a part of Theatre 7, serving 2 terms as president. For Theatre 7 she directed, costumed, lit and or acted in over 90 productions. Anne's favorite roles are: Miss Skillon in "See How They Run" Ethel Thayer in "On Golden Pond" and Doris in "Cemetery Club". Some of the plays she directed include "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", the female version of "The "Odd Couple" and "Wait Until Dark". Currently Anne is involved in working toward restoring the Lincoln Square Theatre, a historic edifice in Decatur Illinois, as well as reprising her role as Doris in "Cemetery Club" for Monticello Theatre Association. |
